Use an AI assistant with Sewa Setu

ChatGPT and Claude are computer programs you can talk to. You can connect one to Sewa Setu to ask about your application status, view application details, request your acknowledgment PDF, or withdraw a pending application.

You do not need an AI assistant to use this portal. You can check your application status here or apply for a pension here. An assistant cannot submit a new application or upload documents yet.

Before you begin

Have your mobile phone nearby to receive a one-time code (OTP). You will also need an account with ChatGPT or Claude. If you would like help, ask someone you trust or visit your nearest Block Development Office.

Enter your OTP only on the Sewa Setu sign-in page. Do not type it into the chat or share it with anyone.

1. Copy the Sewa Setu address

You will need this address when you connect your assistant:

If the copy button does not work, press and hold the address, then choose Copy.

2. Choose the assistant you use

Choose either ChatGPT or Claude. You only need to follow one set of steps.

ChatGPT

Open ChatGPT in your web browser and sign in.
Open Plugins. Select the plus sign, then Add custom MCP server.
For the name, enter Sewa Setu. Under Connection, paste the address copied above into Server URL.
Choose OAuth for sign-in if asked. Follow the instructions to create the plugin and install it. Read any warning before continuing.
When Sewa Setu asks you to sign in, follow the sign-in steps below. In a chat, type @ and choose Sewa Setu.

Options may depend on your ChatGPT account or workspace. See ChatGPT's connection instructions if your screen looks different.

Claude

Open Claude and sign in.
Open Customize, then Connectors. Choose + Add, then Add custom connector.
For the name, enter Sewa Setu. Paste the address copied above into the server URL box and choose Continue.
Choose Sign in now if asked. Follow the prompts to add the connector and sign in using the steps below.
In a new chat, use the plus button and Connectors to turn on Sewa Setu if needed.

For a work or team account, an administrator may need to add the connector first. See Claude's connection instructions for details.

3. Sign in to Sewa Setu

A Sewa Setu page will ask for your mobile number. Enter the number used for your application.
Enter the one-time code sent to your phone on the Sewa Setu page.
Read what access the assistant is requesting. Approve it only if you want to connect.
Return to your assistant. You may be asked to sign in again later.

Try asking: “Use Sewa Setu to show me the status of my application.” Check the answer against the status portal if you are unsure.

If your assistant cannot show or save the PDF, sign in to the status portal to download it.

Before withdrawing an application: read the assistant's request carefully. Only agree if you want to withdraw it. Withdrawal changes your application.

Need help or want to disconnect?

If you cannot find a setting or the connection does not work, use the status portal or visit your nearest Block Development Office. The assistant's menus and availability may change.

To stop access, remove the connection in your assistant's settings. You can also sign in to the Sewa Setu connected applications page to end a sign-in.
